Our vets

Amanda O'Gorman

BVSc MRCVS · Director

Amanda qualified from Bristol in 1999. She began working in mixed large animal practice in Somerset for a year before moving to Liphook Equine Hospital for an 18 month internship followed by a permanent ambulatory position. As well as working in some equine clinics in Dorset, she spent 3 years at Donnington Grove Hospital before settling in Dorset permanently. Gibbs Marsh Equine was founded in 2013 where it continues to grow rapidly. Amanda particularly enjoys sports medicine but has an interest in all aspects of equine medicine. Previously, Amanda had evented to a high level herself, representing GB on the junior event team in Germany. She now continues to enjoy horses through her daughter Emily, and can be regularly seen at the side of the sports pitch supporting both Emily and George in her spare time.

Vicky O'Gorman

BVSc MRCVS

Vicky qualified from Liverpool in 2003 alongside her twin brother, Jamie. Her first job took her to a mixed practice in Northumberland, and then to another clinic in Marlow, before she completed a hospital internship at Rossdales in Newmarket. Taking on a permanent position at Rossdales, she developed a keen interest in lameness evaluation and diagnostic imaging, where her speciality still lies. In 2014, Vicky moved her young family from Buckinghamshire where she was working with her other sister Joanna (also an equine vet), to join Amanda in Dorset. Alongside juggling work and supporting her two children, Woody and Rosie, Vicky still enjoys schooling young horses at home.

Keith Jones

BVSc MRCVS

Keith qualified from Liverpool University in 1986 and after completing a year working in North Wales, he moved to Dorset to work at Kingston Equine Vets where he remained for the next 30+ years becoming a director of the practice. We were very fortunate to have Keith join us at Gibbs Marsh in 2023 on a part time basis and the team and our clients continue to benefit from his extensive experience.

Isabel Miralles

MRCVS

Isabel has been with us since January 2024. After graduating in Spain, Isabel completed an 18-month internship at B&W Equine Hospital, which kick started her career in equine medicine. Since joining Gibbs Marsh Equine, Isabel has been vital in helping our patients, with a key interest in tackling equine asthma, equine gastric ulcer syndrome and lameness. She is also qualified to carry out acupuncture, which has been greatly beneficial to our patients. Isabel is enjoying being out on the road after her time in a hospital environment and enjoys the challenge of first opinion practice. Outside of work she can be found enjoying the great outdoors with her trusty canine companion Chusko and is very much enjoying what Dorset has to offer.

Libby Galloway

BVSc MRCVS

Libby qualified from Bristol to join Gibbs Marsh Equine as an ambulatory intern in September 2023. Riding from a young age, her interests soon took her towards becoming a vet with a particular passion for equine work. Libby has a broad interest base and is enjoying the variety of cases seen across emergency and routine work being out on the road. She carries out the majority of our dental work and has also gained her Official Veterinarian qualification. Growing up in Dorset, she knows the area well and is accompanied on calls by her faithful Labrador, Rubi. Libby still finds time to compete her horse, Wex, at BE and BD level.

George Gemmell

DVM (Global Health) MRCVS

George joined the Gibbs Marsh Equine team in August 2025. Originally from Scotland, George studied veterinary medicine in Grenada before completing his final year at the Royal Veterinary College. Since graduating, he has gained valuable experience working at O'Gorman Equine Vets in Lambourn and Tomlinson Equine in Gloucestershire. George has a particular interest in equine performance and health optimisation, and we're confident he'll be a great addition to our team. Having recently relocated to Dorset with his young family and their friendly lurchers, Rogue and Ralph, George is looking forward to exploring the local countryside, preferably with a few pub lunches along the way.

Emma Roots

Emma joined Gibbs Marsh in 2016, where she has been a key member at the yard looking after Amanda's horses and supporting Emily with her competition career. Having previously groomed for 20 years, Emma has a wealth of knowledge about horse care, and can be found riding out her own coloured mare in her spare time. There isn't a procedure performed at the clinic that Emma hasn't seen and assisted with, so her help is invaluable both during examinations and behind the scenes looking after inpatients.

Debbie Carroll

Practice Manager

Debbie has worked for Gibbs Marsh ever since it was founded in August 2013. She has been involved with horses all her life and before working at Gibbs Marsh she was the Yard Manager of a military equestrian centre in Warminster. Debbie is involved in all aspects of the day to day running of the practice and with the help of her team in the office, they are always available to assist with client queries and co-ordinate the vets' busy diaries. During her spare time, she can be found riding her horse and exploring the countryside walking her springer spaniels.

Alex Harris

Practice Administrator

Alex joined the office team part time to help with administration. She juggles this with managing her daughter's team of top level dressage horses for competitions both in the UK and abroad. Alex has extensive experience with competition horses, as her husband also was an international event rider with several horses competing at the highest level.

Coral Goddard

Practice Administrator

Coral joined Gibbs Marsh Equine in September 2023, accompanied by her lovely whippet, Bella. With several years of experience in veterinary administration, Coral also brings a wealth of practical knowledge from over 10 years working in the eventing and freelance groom industry. She is currently studying for her Certificate in Veterinary Leadership and Management, further developing her skills. Outside of work, Coral enjoys spending time around horses and exploring the beautiful Dorset coastline.
